the idea of the shoot was to explore what was at the essence of damir doma ss2010 collection - the volume & the tension/space/void between the naked body & the garments. the selection of just one garment, beige coat was purposeful as in a way it encompasses the entire collection in itself. however most of the images are not even done with damir doma garments but with a very special thin ivory kashmere that was one of the main inspirations for DD ss2010. styled by monika bielskyte in many different ways it becomes a multi-faceted garment/envelope. the entire sequence (part of which is to be published in SOME/THINGS MAGAZINE ISSUE002) becomes more than a fashion shoot, but an exploration of the impossible silence & discretion in the city of noise & overexposion

ニューヨークの街中にある地中海に咲く花の記憶。ヘリコプターが水の搭を見下し静けさが存在しない。光が建物を金色に染め景色に変えるまでは毎朝、あなたが愛したものが後ろからあなたを見守っている。今回の撮影の意図はDamir Dormの2010年春夏コレクションの意図、人間の体と服の間にあるボリュームと空間を見いだすためである。コレクションの中から一つのベージュのコート(綿製品、または毛糸)を選ぶ事によってコレクションの全てをその一品に凝縮し、包含んでいる。しかし、今回の撮影で撮られたほとんどのものはDamir Domeの服を使っておらず、後に2010年春夏コレクションにインスピレーションを与える、特別に生地が薄いカシミヤを使っている。Monika Bielskyteにスタイリングされた服は多様な面を持つ服となる。コレクションの全てを一連の物として見た時に、ただのファッションの撮影以上の物と化する。(一部は雑誌「SOME/THING」の002号に載る予定)そして、不可能な「静」と自由が騒々しい街中で探求される。

SALFSAME（同一の）と称されたキャロル・クリスチャン・ポエルの仕事はミラノの郊外にある古い精肉の解体場にて行われた。規則正しく整列し移動可能なメタルストラクチャーにハンギングされた作品達はその無機質な空間に有機質を主張する。ドリップストーリーから展開されるシューズ、レザージャケット、靴、鞄等はその底辺からラバーが滴り落ちるかの様に重力の法則に従う。SELFEDGEのアイテムはその特性を最大限主張しガーメント上に、その意味と目的を明確に証明する。又それらの素材は動物本来の感触を感じさせる生のウールを使用し、スパイラルのパターンから生み出された品々は人間本来の身体を保護し包み込む様に作られた。全てが究極まで研究、実験を積み重ねて生み出された作品はキャロル・クリスチャン・ポエルの仕事がその意向と質において同一になった事を疑いなく証明するものでる。

The latest collection by CAROL CHRISTIAN POELL is entitled "SELFSAME" and was presented in a derilict slaughterhouse on the out-skirts of Milano.
The pieces were organized and hung on a movable metal structure to contrast these organic elements with the giant cold inorganic space.
Various different "Stories" can be found within this one large collection :
Shoes . leather jackets and bags were all shown as part of a "Drip Story" : all the items had rubber from the bottom dripping upwards , like liquid opposing the laws of gravity.
A collection of "SELF EDGE" items truly show the real meaning of this special technique to the optimum degree and take it to its highest level on each garment. In addition , the material for these items are made of raw wool in order to best capture the original feeling and essence of the animals from which it came and embody it in each individual garment.
In addition , various "Spiral patterned items" are part of another separate "story" of garments which have been created to wrap around the human body and offer protection when they are worn.
When examined closely several times it can be seen that every detail of each of the numerous items in the collection has been researched and accomplished to the very highest standard and quality and that the work of CAROL CHRISTIAN POELL is truly as close to perfection as we have yet seen.

このプロジェクトはイタリア、サルデニア島のVeronica Usula (ヴェロニカ　ウスラ)との出会いから生まれました。Veronicaはウールの加工をサルデニア島の昔からの伝統的な手法を用い、植物から染料を採集することにより自然のバランスを保ち尊重しています。このプロジェクトに使用した羊毛はサルデニアの歴史の中で最も古い種の羊で黒色のarburese(アルブレーゼ)といい元は北アフリカから起源の羊です。このウールは野生的で粗い手触りです。かつては羊飼い／牧人のマント、コートやソックス、スリッパに使われました。通常、ウールの加工を行う工程は５段階を経て成り立ちます。_ 毛の刈り込み_ 動物は冬の時期、寒さから保護するため毛を増やします。通常は春に毛の刈り込みを行います。私たちの場合、サルデニア島の中部Mamoiada (マモイアダ)の若い羊飼いのMattia Moro (マッティア　モーロ)と羊の毛の刈り込みを行いました。ローマ時代の約２０００年前から使われているハサミで刈り込みました。_ 毛の選抜_ 他の劣っている品質の毛を取り除き上質な背中と脇腹のみを選抜しました。_ 洗い_ サルデニアの伝統的な手法により川で洗いました。はじめにビャクシンの木を燃やし灰にし、月桂樹の枝とラベンダーを火で煮立てます。このエキスが sa lissia と呼ばれるもので自然の洗剤で獣脂を取り除きます。このエキスを冷ました後に羊毛を漬けて川で洗い流します。洗いの後、日なたで翌朝まで乾かします。_ カーディング_ カーディングは繊維の方向性を揃えより良質な羊毛をセレクションする作業。古く短い羊毛を取り除き、若い生きた長い羊毛のみを木と鉄のブラシで手作業で梳毛しました。_ 糸紡ぎ_ 最後の工程は羊毛を糸にする作業です。 伝統的な木の工具を使いこまの回転力を利用して、繊維をねじって糸にするものです。このながい工程を経て最終的にニットの糸になります。私たちはこのプロジェクトにすぐに興味を持ちました。なぜなら今日の世代は古い伝統が失われつつあり、伝統を取り戻すことは大事な事だと思います。イタリア、日本や他の国も含めて未来に視線を持ち起源を忘れている様に思います。過去に視線を向け解釈し新しいテクノロジーと融合することが大事です。
This project was first thought of from an encounter with Veronica Usula in the Sardegna Island in Italy. Veronica uses the traditional method that is told through out time in the Sardegna Islands, collecting dye colours from plants. By doing this it keeps the balance from the nature within the garments. The wool that was used in this project was collected from oldest breed of sheeps in the Sardegna’s history, Arburese, a black coloured sheep that originated from Northern Africa. This wool has a rough and a wild texture. In the old days, it was used to make capes, coats, socks and slip-ons for shepherds. Normally there are five steps in the procedure of polishing the wool. 1. Trimming---------Animals grow more hair on the body in order to survive the cold weather in winter. Normally the trimming takes place in spring. We asked Mattia Moro, a young shepherd who is in Mamoiada, located in the middle Sardegna Island. He used a pair of scizzors, which was used from the time of Romans, about 2000 years ago. 2. Selection--------We selected the parts where it has the best quality and eliminated the mediocre ones.3. Washing -------We used the traditional method in Sardegna, by the river. We burned the woods from Sabina, into ashes. Then we heat bay leaf and lavender using fire. The extract from this is called sa lissia and it is a natural detergent, which removes the animal fat. The extract is cooled down first, and then it is used to wash the wool. After it is washed thoroughly, it is dried naturally until the next morning. 4. Carding-----Carding is a procedure where the directions of the fibre is set in one direction. Old and short parts are eliminated and young, long parts are brushed using wood and metal brushes, by hand. 5.Thread spinning---------The last procedure is the process of making the wools into threads. Using traditional wooden machineries, threads are formed by the force of rotation, spinning the fibres into one piece. We had a huge interest in this project because nowadays, traditions are being ignored and we felt that it is important to bring it back again. Including Italy, Japan and many other countries, the thoughts are being put on the future but not the past. It is important to merge the good parts of traditions and new technology.

m.a+のスペシャルウインドーと称されたスペースが'09-10秋冬の発表と同時にエタージュ内に解説された。デザイナー自身のシルエットがキャンバスとメッシュ素材をボンディングし３枚のレイヤーにて特別に作られたこの壁は、シルエットから光を通しそこに無の存在感を示す。ナチュラルなカンバスによるハンガーカバーは、筋肉の構造を彷佛する。m.a＋の世界観が凝縮した形で再現された。
m.a+special window at Lift.
m.a+’s space “special window” has opened within the Lift etage, right after the 09-10 Autumn/Winter collection was presented. The wall is made out of different layers, where the designer’s silhouette on canvas and a meshed material is bonded. This allows light to come through, creating the atmosphere of nothing. The hanger cover that is seen on the natural canvas reminds us of human muscle structures. m.a+’s viewpoint is condenced into the space.

THE VIRIDI-ANNE PRESENTATION

THE VIRIDI-ANNEのパリで行われた'09-10AWのプレゼンテーションがリフトエクリュ店にて７月１５日より開催された。中から光を放つ特別なトルソーはデザイナー自らの製作による物で、その上に身にまとう衣服のテクスチャーを強調する。それはこのプレゼンテーションの趣旨でもある”蛹”を否が応でも感じさせるもので、なにか謎めいた存在がその中から誕生するような錯覚させ感じさせる。デザイナーの中にある繊細さと誕生への興味がこのプレゼンテーションを通じて伝達される瞬間であった。
Lift ecru opening 15th,July,2009
The 09-10AW presentation of THE VIRIDI-ANNE which was presetend in Paris, was done in Lift ecru on July 15th. Torsos which emits lighting from the inside was made by the designer himself, and emphasizes the garments’ texture. This idea emphasizes the aim of this presentation, making the viewers feel “cocoon” making them feel mysterious once they see it. The excitement of new life and the delicate touch of designers became one when the presenation was done.

PROGETTO POSTE ITALIANE

リフトエクリュ＆エタージュ平成21年5月21日
ポストプロジェクトと言われるこのプロジェクトは、デッレコーゼ社とリフトとの間にて見出された価値観をプロジェクトを通じて伝達するというものである。切っ掛けはもともとデッレコーゼ社が鞄を造る上で、材として使用した1960年代を中心とするイタリアの郵便袋のデッドストックが始まりのポイントとなりました。昨今のスピードのみを中心とした伝達手段や、ものの考えかに疑問を抱き、個々のふれあい等の大切さを、伝統を重んじながら独自の手法で作品に魂を込めて行くデッレコーゼの物造りの姿勢とリフトの視点が重なり合いこのコラボレーションが成立しました。2作品限定各20個の生産のみとなります。

Una collaborazione tra Delle Cose & Lift, basata sul senso dei valori comuni con lo scopo di trasmettere questi attraverso il progetto, l'opportunita' di far rivivere un dead-stock di sacchi della posta del 1960, ha spinto il marchio Delle Cose a trasformarli in borsa. Fibre ottiche, e-mail, wap, velocita' incontrollabili hanno sostituito i vecchi mezzi di comunicazione...tradizionali. Partendo da questa realta', Delle Cose con la sua linea in 'sacchi-posta' vuole trasmettere attraverso le sue costruzioni, il calore di un mondo ormai dimenticato. La collaborazione 'posta-progetto' sara' rappresentata da 2 unici modelli per Lift, limitati da 20 borse ciascuno.
