現在リフト・エタージュにて開催されているキャロル・クリスチャン・ポエルの個展はイタリアのC.C.P社の協力の元 実現したもので、デザイナー本人の多大なる協力の元、特別なアートワークを展示する事が可能となりました。クリエーションが放つメッセージはシンフォニーとなり、その空間に入り込んだものに強烈に語りかけ”静かなバイオレンス”が顔を覗かす。物質が規律を成し、無言の中に生まれるエネルギーは、そのもの自体がどう自分に関係していくのかを問いかける。観るものと着るものボーダーはどこにあるのか？ものというものについて考えさせられる。

LIFTOLOGY PROJECT

Liftology new project will be presented soon here in Tokyo.

前回から開始された新たなプロジェクトであるLIFTOLOGYはヘビーデューティー、ユティリティーを新たな視点により見つめ、そこに機能美と哲学を重ね合わせて行く事に重点を於いた物造りが基本ベースとなっている。その上で着目したのが、パラシュート部隊。空の上を舞う自由の伝達者達。風に合わせ大気中を浮遊する。その光景は天からの光を浴びて自由に泳ぐクラゲのように、或は風の働きを巧く利用し、空から空けと遊覧飛行するクモのように、ふわりふわりと舞う。パラシュートが自由の象徴と考え、そこに結果、機能美ともなりうるディテールを加える。安全性は勿論、防火素材やウェートの最軽量化する事で、着用時のストレスを解消する。実用と、コンセプトを重ね合わせたこのプロダクトはあらゆるライフシーンに付加価値を齎してくれるであろう。

Japanese creation project Vol.1 Circle wooden clogs

日本の逸品企画と題されたプロジェクトがこの秋から開始されました。この企画の趣旨は日本の歴史、伝統の中から生み出されたプロダクトをLIFTのチャンネルを通じて御紹介していくというプロジェクトで、金沢の２１世紀美術館にてロン・ミュエックの個展を見に行った時に丸下駄を偶然見かけて以来、その独特のフョルムに目を奪われ、京都の老舗の下駄やさんに製作して頂きました。このプロダクトの魅力は、フォルムの美しさ。ベースを桐の木を使用し製作されたものに、革製の鼻緒をつけた仕様と、それ自体を大胆に革で包んだ仕様のものは、底にラバーが貼られ事で、よりサボ的要素を高めます。日本人にも、海外の方にも是非チャレンジして頂きたい逸品です。

SHARE WALL PROJECT TILL THE 30TH OF JULY,2010 " この壁の向こうに広がる世界 "

Lift étage will be renewed on the coming August 20th 2010 with removing the wall which always existed and shared between next door since after the store is opened six years ago. This renewal project will not proceed without the understanding of the property owner. By using the wall as a ‘campus’ we would like to share a memory with all of the LIFT participators until the wall is break it down. it would be greatly appreciated of writing the thing, favorite word, picture, and the image of anything, which you come up in your mind. Thank you for your participation.

How we meet " GUSTAVO LINS "

GUSTAVON LINSとの出会い

私達がGUSTAVO LINSの作品に遭遇したのはパリコレ期間中の事だった。マレのピカソミュージアムの近くに位置するそのギャラリーにGUSTAVOの作品は展示してあった。アートなのかそれとも展示会なのか、詳細の無い展示はウインドー越しにその存在感を十分に発揮し、少なくとも私達の足を食い止めるのに十分な制動能力を発揮した。アポイント先へと向かう間のほんの数秒のそのアクシデントは、その後６年間以上に渡ったてのコラボレーションへと繋がる事となった。まず最初のインパクトは、造形的主張、それが発するメッセージは力強く、が、しかし無骨さではなくあくまでも、その卓越された技術からなし得る仕事、そしてステッチワーク。その後初めてデザイナーにあった際に彼の存在と彼の仕事が完全に線で結びついた。それは彼のオートクチュールをベースとしてして来た歴史とその技術がシンクロし、創作物になった瞬間であり、オートクチュールの持ちうる感性と技術が現代に解き放なたれた瞬間でもあった。話をすればするほど彼の物造りは彼自身の経験を反映させていることに気がつかされる。と言うのも彼が造る作品はどこか建築物をイメージさせる、というのも衣という表現方法の中で実に巧みに、そのスペース（インターナル、アウトターナル）を使い分け、その両方に新たな可能性を見いだす。リバーシブルの原理は両方が主張を持った空間的構築に他ならず、どちらかがA面でどちらかがB面ではなく、いわばどちらもA面なのである。その居住空間的発想はあとで解った事ではあるが、彼がオートクチュールを始める前に、建築家であった事を反映させている。そして彼の仕事にもっとも強いインパクトを与えたのが、他でもない着物である。その美しさ、着用した時のフォルムは欧米には存在しない物で、洋服がコンストラクチュアルな構成であるという原理（理解）に対して、コンストラクチュアルは人間の体であり、そこに衣を宛てがった時に出来るフォルムこそヒューマニティーを誇張し、そこに美が生まれる。GUSUTAVOはその発見から、現在に至まで、そこが出発点であり又、彼のゴールもそこにあるのであろう。そこにコンストラクチュアルな仕事を入れる事で、彼の作品は完成を得る。私達は彼ほど着物を理解し、長年に渡って研究しているデザイナーを他に知らない。又、そこに完全なる仕事を成立させる事のできるデザイナーを彼以外に想像する事も不可能である。

Meeting GUSTAVO LINS

The first time we encountered Gustavo Lins'work was during the Paris Fashion Week.A gallery near the Picasso Museum was the presented work of Gustavo Lins.Was it art or just expositi-　on?　It had no caption of the work,which made it unique from the other side of the window, interesting enough to make our moving feet stop.The " accident" that happened on our way to the appointment back then,left us a remark for 6 years until we then started to collaborate with one and another. The primary impact was the appeal that each models had.The message it was projecting was solid,with only the highest technique and stitch work making it possible. The point of his work was fully discovered when we met the designer himself. It was the moment where his base of haute couture became an original,creative items.It was also the moment where the concept of haute coture was related into the modern world. The more we talk to him, the more we understand that his craftmanship is based on his own personal experiense.His work reminds us of architecture,and he uses both internal and external spaces of object to maximise the possibility with the item. The ideas of reversible items are supporsed to be that both siders of the item appeals for its different causes. In another words they both are the "A" side. The atmosphere of the living space was created out of his mind and it was self explained from the fact that he was an architect before starting haute couture. However it was the Kimono that defined the uniqueness in his work. The beauty and the form of the garment when it is worn is not applicable to weatern clothing, and makes us realise that the materials cover up the human body,which is the true construction when it comes to humanity.Because Gustavo had that finding, that was his departing point and the goal at the same time. By having construtional work in it,his work is complete.We don't know other designers who understand the concept of the Kimono other then Gustavo. Also we don't think we can imagine another designer other then him,who can do this job with perfection.

来る４月１７日よりリフト・エクリュ、エタージュ、アトリエ全てのスペースを使用したGUSTAVO LINSの個展が開催される運びとなました。各スペースにて展示される作品は、ポーセリンストーリーを始め、マヌカンストーリー、２Dストーリー、Kimonoストーリーその他この個展の為だけに制作される新ストーリーと更に、新作のお披露目も含んだ内容となっております。デザイナー自身が来日して作り込む世界観は他に類を見ず、彼独自の世界観が究極レベルに表現される内容となります。是非この機会にご来場頂き、ご自身で御体感頂ければ幸いです。

On April 17th, a one-man show of Gustavo Lins will be held using space of Lift ecru,etage and the Atelier.Starting from porcelain story,mannequin story,2D story,Kimono story and other stories will be present at each space,accompanied by stories that are exclusively made for the gallery,as well as new line-up of items.His work will expose the full view of his world,in his perspecitive as he works from scratch in Japan.It will be nothing but unique and special,and would be in top quality.It would be wonderful if you take this opportunity and feel the world with your senses.

DAMIR DOMA 2010-11 WOMEN'S COLLECTION IN PARIS

2010年３月３日ダミールドーマの初のショーがパリにて発表された。会場は左岸にある由緒正しきスクールで、ファッションデザイナーのショーがここで開催されるのは初めての事。全てのスタッフが緊張の中ショーが開始された。ランウェイのステージはちょうど良いパースペクティブでアンソンのサミュエル・ドリラのスタイリングが映える。厳格な空間に解き放たれたモデル達は霧の中から現代へと足早に駆け抜けて行く。緊張が解き放たれた頃、人々の拍手喝采の中ショーの幕が閉じた。ダミール・ドーマ自身が解き放たれた瞬間でもあった。

”誕生 無意識が有意識になる時” と題されたインスタレーションがリフトエタージュ、エクリュにて開催されています。そのテーマとは：何かが生まれる時、誰かが、もしくは何かが生命力を受諾しそこに自意識が芽生える。そしてその場所を確認すべく明かりの中へと無意識に向かっていく。

Installation entitled Bone The moment when “Subconscious” becomes “Conscious” now take place at Lift etage and ecru from the 5th of February,2010 and the theme is : When something is born, someone or something receives the vitality of their life, and creates self-consciousness. To confirm that exact location, they all move towards the light, subconsciously.

Kiminori Morishitaによる新しいプロジェクト08 SIRCUS、リフトが考える”循環”をベースに進められたプロジェクトは、物の質、本質、本当に必要な物は何か？をピュアな視点で見つめ、共同作業により実行された。日本の地で長い年月と文化の中で生まれた技術、又、培われた伝統美は今、時代の流れの中で行き場や継承者を失いつつあります。それがどんなに素晴らしいものであったとしても。時間の経過と共に移り変わってしまう昨今のトレンドシーンは、着用者の自尊心をも同時にその時間の川の流れに飲み込まれてしまいそうになってしまう事さえあります。私達は今”本物”を本当の意味で所有する事がとても重要だと考えます。最低限のデザイン、最高の品質そして物作りの背景にあるコンセプト。それら全てが意味を成し、受諾者の感性に訴えた時、それはその人にとって最高の”逸品”となるわけです。私達が開始したこのプロジェクトは本物（タイムレスで受諾者にとって意味をなすもの、）を深く追求する事だけを目的としています。

08 SIRCUS LIFT SPECIAL EDITION VIEW AT LIFT ECRU
The project "08 SIRCUS" by Kiminori Morishita, based on the Lift's ideology of "circulation" looks at the real meaning of objects and the quality, asking ourselves the question, what are the things that you must have? The craft work that was developed over the years in the land of Japan, and the traditional beauty is starting to lose its colour within the flow of modern world. No matter how great it was, the trend of having the styles changed in seconds almost swallows up the wearer's pride in the river of time. We think now is the crucial time of having the "real" thing. Minimalist designs, top class quality and the concept behind the making. All of that makes a meaning and when that reaches into the user's conception, it becomes that person's gem. This project that we started only focuses on the pursuit of the real meaning, of the real thing.

SILENT
サイレントとは2010年からスタートするdamir domaがディレクションするプロジェクト。ピュアでありナチュラル、そしてベーシックを追求し、そこに必要不可欠な要素を見出して行く。それは人間本来のあるべき基本”物の循環””ずっと所有したいもの”に純粋に挑んだ結果、そこに行き着く事に至りました。2010年上旬に販売が開始されます。

"SILENT" is a project directed by DAMIR DOMA, which is going to start from 2010. Pursuit for the pure yet natural, and basic, essential elements are to be focused.That pursuit was finalised after facing the innate feelings in human, "cycle of it" and "posession of items"The sales will start in the first half of 2010.

LIFT WINTER CAMPAIGN " CANDLE LIGHT " opening 1st,December,2009
マッチ売りの少女からインスパイアーされた" CANDLE LIGHT " はアンティークのティーカップの中にセットされたキャンドルに日が灯り、その灯火に絵が映り込んでくるイメージで製作されました。灯火は希望であり、保護であり、チャレンジであり、その揺らぎの中に幸せがかくれんぼしているという物語です。

Inspired by the famous tale "The Little Match Girl", "CANDLE LIGHT" was created from the image of a candle lit within an antique cup, and the image showing within the flames. The flame stands for "hope", "protection" and "challenge", and within those elements, happiness is playing hide and seek.

寒い冬が毎年訪れるアントワープをベースにするステファン・シュナダーからの贈り物。ハーバーから拭きよせる風が日増しに寒くなるこの時期、暖炉に火を灯しロッキングチェアーに身を任せる。モノクロームの景色が窓の外に立ち込める。乾いた空気が風と友達になり、渡り鳥は忙しくハーバーの景色の中へと消えていく。フッと目を閉じると目の中の景色はいつの間にか童話の世界へと変わる。フランダースの犬。パトラッシュが天使になったあの教会。そこには切なさと優しさが共存する。手編みのブランケットは郷愁の世界へと誘ってくれる冬の贈り物....

A gift from Stephan Schneider, who based in Antwerp and now in cold winter time.As the wind from the harbour blows stronger everyday, light the fireplace and relax yourself in the rocking chair. The monochrome view shines in from the window. The dry air becomes friends with the wind, as the grey clouds disappears into the harbour. When you close your eyes, all you can see is the world of a fairytale. "A Dog of Flanders". The church where Patrasche became an angel. The place is a mixture of sorrow and kindness. The handmade blanket is a gift from the winter, as an invitation to the world of sorrow.

グイディの2010SS新作のプレビューがリフト・エタージュにて開催されました。キリストを描いたジョットの色使いにインスパイアーされたコレクションはまるで絵画の世界のような色の深みと重厚さの中に、現実と過去の時間の狭間を見つける。全てに意味がありそしてファンクショナル。靴としての歩行の保護、そして独自のフォルムと体感者だけが得る事の出来るその美学はuserにファンとサティスファクションを同時に与えてくれる。

GUIDI's 2010 S/S line up's preview was shown at the Lift etage. Inspired from the use of colours by Giotto's painting of Jesus Christ, the collection reminds us the world of paintings with the depth and the thickness of colours, portraying the past and the present in terms of time. Everything has a meaning and is functional. Support of walking and the form that only the users will know, gives the user fun and satisfaction simultaneously.

JAS MB SPECIAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES " 16 " November at Lift écru
スペシャリティーの追求、ファションとユーティリティーの融合、オリジナリティーの追求をテーマにJAS MBと共に開発してきたプロダクトのシリーズ#16となる今回は、よりその目的とデザイン性の追求を重ね合わせ、究極のユーティリティーバッグを開発しました。私達は開発において、さり気なく使え、しかも上質、そして他との差別化が出来るという点を最も重視しています。それは人々のライフスタイルが多様化され、そこに必要とされるニーズは様々なものであり、生活スタイルも含め、よりパーソナルな視点による追求が必要不可欠だと考えております。そういった環境の中で、このプロジェクトに必要とされる要素は、ユーザーの個性の強調、アクティビティーのサポートに他なりません。”ずっと愛着を持ち使い続ける事が出来るもの”という点にポイントを絞り製作されたコレクションは、昨今の大量消費の世の中で、今必要なものは何か？その答えの一端になるはずです。

Pursuit of speciality, the merge of fashion and utility, and pursuit of originality was the theme for the series #16 products with JAS MB. This time we pursuit the function and the design into the next level, and was successful to invent the ultimate utility bag. We regard the following points within the production: being able to use it naturally yet with quality, and being able to make it unique from the others. Everyone's lifestyle is diverse and so are there demands, so we believe it is important to see the demands from a personal level. Within that environment in production, it was essential to have a strong personality of the customer and support of activity. "Being able to use something that you can keep on loving" was the point of this collection, and we're sure that it would answer to the question of "during this consumer segment in our lives, what is really needed?".

the idea of the shoot was to explore what was at the essence of damir doma ss2010 collection - the volume & the tension/space/void between the naked body & the garments. the selection of just one garment, beige coat was purposeful as in a way it encompasses the entire collection in itself. however most of the images are not even done with damir doma garments but with a very special thin ivory kashmere that was one of the main inspirations for DD ss2010. styled by monika bielskyte in many different ways it becomes a multi-faceted garment/envelope. the entire sequence (part of which is to be published in SOME/THINGS MAGAZINE ISSUE002) becomes more than a fashion shoot, but an exploration of the impossible silence & discretion in the city of noise & overexposion

ニューヨークの街中にある地中海に咲く花の記憶。ヘリコプターが水の搭を見下し静けさが存在しない。光が建物を金色に染め景色に変えるまでは毎朝、あなたが愛したものが後ろからあなたを見守っている。今回の撮影の意図はDamir Dormの2010年春夏コレクションの意図、人間の体と服の間にあるボリュームと空間を見いだすためである。コレクションの中から一つのベージュのコート(綿製品、または毛糸)を選ぶ事によってコレクションの全てをその一品に凝縮し、包含んでいる。しかし、今回の撮影で撮られたほとんどのものはDamir Domeの服を使っておらず、後に2010年春夏コレクションにインスピレーションを与える、特別に生地が薄いカシミヤを使っている。Monika Bielskyteにスタイリングされた服は多様な面を持つ服となる。コレクションの全てを一連の物として見た時に、ただのファッションの撮影以上の物と化する。(一部は雑誌「SOME/THING」の002号に載る予定)そして、不可能な「静」と自由が騒々しい街中で探求される。
